Started in 2018, which sees images of sandbags found through the streets of London. These sandbags, functional, heavy, often ignored, become in the artist’s lens quiet bodies. They slump, bend, persist. They are marked by time, use, and environment. In their anonymity and stillness, they carry the quiet endurance of labouring bodies. Their presence bridges the organic and the artificial, the human and the utilitarian.
2018 년부터 시작된 이 작업은 런던 거리 곳곳에서 발견한 모래주머니를 기록한 것입니다. 기능적이고 무거우며 무심히 지나치기 쉬운 모래주머니들은 작가의 시선 속에서 조용한 ‘몸’이 됩니다. 구부러지고 주저앉고 버티며 시간의 흐름과 반복된 사용, 환경과의 접촉을 고스란히 새긴 몸들. 그 익명성과 정적에는 노동하는 몸의 고요한 인내가 깃들어 있습니다. 이들은 유기적인 것과 인공적인 것, 인간과 도구적인 것을 이어주는 다리가 됩니다.
