Scribble Body emerges from a continuous research about the body as an internal battle ground but also as our main contact with the external world. The sculpture is following a previous study where the sculpture (Emerge 2018) was showing a body like shape emerging from its own structure. The structure here was not just containing the body and restricting it but also was serving as a shield protecting it. Scribble Body is a following phase where the body has now emerged full into the external world. The sculpture is resembling the a scribble drawing as here the body is a metaphor not a anatomical representation. At its center sits a wooden heart, pre-burnt and carbonised. In a performance during the opening of the exhibition, the heart was removed and used to draw directly on paper, then returned to the sculpture once the performance ended.
